Chainsaw Madness
I replaced a chain on an electric chainsaw, and once I get some oil, it should be ready for action. I'm going to trim 4 trees when they go dormant, and cut a fifth tree entirely down. The one to go is a sycamore maple?, and it probably seeded 20 years ago from a larger tree that's growing next door. I can start with the limbs any time, and borrow a gas saw for the trunk, and finally chop and dig out the stump and roots. With the tree gone, the garden will get more sunlight, with no more soapberry bugs in the spring and summer, and there will be space to add on to the shed.
Snowpeas, broccoli and maybe the onions popping out of the ground, but no cauliflower, so I just started my last cauliflower seeds indoors, to transplant later, when hopefully it will be warmer. The freezing cold in November is an anomaly, and cauliflower is hard to grow.
