Pogi ran away while off leash again, but Halo tracked him, and we found him quickly. He wasn't where I would have looked. Halo walked a direct line to where Pogi was hunting. You can understand why people had dogs in the old days. Not just for guarding and protection, but a good dog can track and search.

I'm building gates today, using up my paint and lumber scraps in the process. Each one is almost 5 feet square, and needs plenty of bracing.

Things are heating up again, with tomorrow forecast to be 107 F.

I have little eggplants now developing, and a bumper crop of tomatoes. I'm hoping to can 60 quarts of tomatoes this year.
