Gardening and Cats

I finished trimming the tree away from the roof, with hours to spare before the rain started. My new electric pole saw is really wonderful.

I now have three big piles of tree limbs, and I'm not sure how to dispose of them.

The cats are using the insulated sleeping boxes I've set up in the garage, even when it's not particularly cold.

I've realized that when I'm missing one, and it suddenly appears, it was in a box.

I just made an insulated box for my opossum that has lived in my garage for the past two years.

One thing that I've learned is that you make the box fairly small, so the animal's body heat can keep them warm. My cats also like bigger than minimal openings. In a really cold climate, smaller openings would probably be optimal.

Its a little bigger than an opossum with one door, also added lots of straw. made two, one for up stairs and one for downstairs. Also have a heated water dish. Be careful when making with only one door I worry that if they are trapped inside they won't be able to escape. My opossum has been with me year round for 2 years now.

I see all kinds of videos of people taming wild animals. My cats were essentially wild, but I have a theory that even feral cats have an affinity towards humans. The adult kitten is a hard case because while she likes me, but still doesn't want me to touch her. The rest of the cats act like house cats.
