More On Jury Duty

They haven't finished jury selection for the Lacy Peterson murder trial. As of today, they have a pool of 52 jurors selected, but 18 more are needed. The court has scheduled the selection to end May 7, but the judge is worried that it may have to continue longer.

I have a summons to appear for jury duty on May 4.

so then

you might be on the jury? That'd be a pretty interesting experience.

I'm sure they need jurors for other trials, as well. When they assemble a pool of 70 prospective jurors, the prosecution and defense winnow it down with 52 peremptory challenges, which leaves 12 jurors and 6 alternates.

I have a feeling I would be attractive to the defense, being a single guy, and all that. I honestly have tried to avoid the pre-trial publicity, as the media frenzy over these types of cases puts me off.
I have also been a juror before, and we were able to reach an unanimous verdict, and both sides like that. I'll update on Tuesday night and let you know what happened.

least to none/robby whatever et al et
