Reading "The Dog Year"

I found a book about a middle-aged guy with two yellow labs, who adopts a rescue border collie. There are definite flashes of Pogi in his narrative. Some differences are that my first dog, Halo is of a related breed, and actually wanted Pogi, and even though Pogi was a stray, his spirit has never broken.

In honor of this book, I gave Pogi a bath (which he needs and likes), and we're going to scout out a place for him to run.

Just starting the book, but it seems that I've done comparatively well with my rescued border collie.
