My Cheap Internet Streaming Video Project
I pre-ordered the Amazon Fire TV Stick, for $20, and when it's released, because of a huge backlog, I won't receive it until December 17. It connects through Wi-Fi, directly to the internet. It's a little android computer designed for really fast video streaming.
The second piece is a little video converter ($12) that the Fire Stick can plug into, and will channel the HDMI video into my wide screen computer monitor, and speakers.
The last thing will be another video cable (~$10) so I can watch this new video source with my media computer off.
So for under $50, I'll have really fast and free internet streaming video and games. I won't need to use the Amazon corporate platform, but can side load an open source android based media interface called Kodi, which will give me a network of internet video channels, TV shows, games and movies, not controlled or overlooked by media conglomerates. Lots of edgy, pirate stuff from all over the world.
