 I ordered an Amazon Echo Dot, which is a little device that I can ask to play music, make calls or send messages, control the thermostat, be an alarm clock. This technology is interesting, and this will be my first artificial intelligence "assistant". The default name for "her" is Alexa.

It was Amazon's biggest selling item for the holidays.

I'm very surprised that you'd order this. Not critical - just surprised. Seems to me these things are potentially so easily hacked.

I like new technology, and this is amazing. Some people are afraid that their conversations will be monitored, but I don't feel that risk. There's a new movie out, Marjorie Prime, about AI, that you might enjoy.
