Gardening And Dogs

The electric lawn mower I got from my Dad gave up the ghost, but I picked up a nice gas mower on Craigslist for only $35. I downloaded the manuals from the internet, and I'm going to change the oil tomorrow, and then mow with it. One thing I might do eventually is convert it into a mulching mower. I would have to install a different sort of mower blade and plug the grass discharge outlet. My electric was a mulching mower, and I like that feature.

I couldn't take the dogs to pick up the mower, because Pogi is afraid of them, and couldn't handle sitting with one in the bed of the truck. They stayed home together, and were fine.

Another thing I picked up was paint for the new gates. When the fence project is finished, I'll install a doggy door, so the dogs can go in and out at will.

Why didn't Pogi ride shotgun? Did he/she not call it soon enough? :(

Halo is the top dog, so that his place. They have well established boundaries, which is good because I don't want any fighting. Pogi can't sleep by my bed, and he eats outdoors, and Halo eats in the kitchen. They have their spaces and they're a really happy with the rigid rules. Big male dogs can really get out of hand without rules.

They're both smiley dogs, and I try to keep them happy. Both very smart, as well. They understand so many words (hundreds), it's very amazing.
