The Civilized World Needs To Crush Violent Jihad

No amount of love and compassion and social justice or negotiation will stop the wave of terror. ISIS wants a direct military confrontation with the West, and we need to send a large coalition of ground troops to confront and kill every single member of ISIS.

You are right. They need to be hit hard and without mercy.

The well meaning people of the world cannot stand idle, waiting to be butchered.

Why ground troups? Drones are just as effective.

No, the coalition needs to eliminate an entire force of about 40,000 troops, and hold every inch of ISIS territory indefinitely. One ultimate objective would be to educate the children, both boys an girls.

I totally disagree. Huge numbers of troops on the ground will only succeed in alienating the entire Islamic world. Don't forget, Pakistan has nuclear weapons. The fight against ISIS requires the support of moderate Muslims. I think what you do is you get countries like Turkey on board, contributing small numbers of troops and money. (This means Turkey needs to stop buying oil from ISIS. Right now, ISIS's biggest oil customers are Turkey and -- ulp -- Israel.) You also try to eliminate whatever appeal ISIS has for young Muslims with jobs, with education. You target Mosul and Fallujah with drone strikes, and you take out their supply lines.

You totally don't understand that a military coalition to crush ISIS would include Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and others. Huge numbers, (100,000?) are the only way to decisively destroy ISIS and reclaim that territory. We can't allow a slow war of simple containment. If Pakistan doesn't like it, it's totally too bad for them and their terrorist allies.
