Halo In The Yard
Halo is adjusting well to my being gone during the day. He still gets 15 hours with me and two walks per day. It helps that we have a large yard with a good view. A possum was at the fence line a few days ago, and right now there are bunnies out there. Lots of dogs, cats, horses, ad infinitum. Sometimes, coming back from a walk, I think he's happy to come back to his personal yard and away from the neighborhood dogs.
He is a rescue dog, with a history of being abused and neglected, but in the six years I've had him he's gained trust that I'll come back. I always tell him, when I go, "Be good, I'll be back." He is, and I do.
