Aug. 24th, 2003 10:00 pmWent diving in the kelp beds off the coast of Monterey. I simply swam aimlessly, finding open spots and weaving through a forest of undulating seaweed. There were millions of tiny dead shrimp washing up onto the beaches. The surf line actually looked pink. A fisherman told me they were krill, and he was pissed, because fish were not hungry enough to bite baited hooks.
He said that the krill had grown to great numbers, as a result of algae blooms. Now, supposedly, the krill have eaten all the algae, and have died.
I've got a mild sunburn on my back, and I thought I put sunscreen there. My knees also hurt. I've started taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin with MSM complex, to see if that helps.
