Apr. 16th, 2006 09:19 pmTomorrow is the 100th anniversary of San Francisco's great earthquake and fire. The local TV stations are broadcasting documentaries about the catastrophe. My Dad, who is 83, was telling me today that his dad was about 15 years old at the time, and survived the cataclysm. My grandfather's parents (my great grandparents) lived to the north in Petaluma, and it seems that my grandfather was a wild boy who had run away to the City, only to be caught up in the quake. It took about a month for his Dad to locate him in the chaotic aftermath of San Francisco, and to bring him back home.
We'll finally have some nice weather starting tomorrow, and I'm up for that. I've been fighting some viral crud that is causing the glands in my neck to hurt. I need sunny weather to recover.
I have to finish and mail my tax returns tomorrow. I have 4 separate returns to do and at this point,I have 12 double sided forms completely done, and about 12 more to recopy and double check tomorrow.
