Jun. 4th, 2007 03:43 pmLast night, I dreamt that I had built a little playhouse up the hill from my real house. Ii was on an unused little triangle of land near the neighbor's. The first story was well built, but I had rushed the second story, so as I climbed the hill the next day, I noticed that the roof and one upper wall were a little off. When I went inside, I saw that someone had thrown a brick through a second story window. It seems that the neighbors were upset that my playhouse would lower their property values. I liked the house, it was modern in style, with a vaulted roof, sort of like a ski chalet. I wasn't positive that I owned the little forgotten patch that it was built on, and clearly the house was not built to code. I realized that animosity and lawsuits from the neighbors would be too much, and so I half-heartedly accepted that I had to tear it down, but it made me happy, that at least, the neighbor kids saw the magic of it, and wanted to go inside.
It is common to dream about houses. They usually symbolize our emotional and psychological selves. All of your experiences, stages of development, and parts of your conscious and unconscious life may be represented by that house. The house may be representing issues concerning a particular dilemma in your life, or it may be more general and comprehensive. Either way, if you pay attention to the details in this dream, you may learn a thing or two about yourself
