Lake Tahoe Weekend

I drove both ways via Highway 50, and saw three coyotes, including one that passed very close to me. I was sitting quietly at night as the coyote, about size of a medium dog, trotted past. When it was too late, it finally noticed me, but then seemed to pretend that it hadn't seen me. Only after it passed, did it turn to look at me. I think the coyote was embarrassed to be caught unaware.
In other news, my favorite casino, Caesar's Palace, is gone. It's now called the MontBleu, and looking run down. The slot machines and video poker machines everywhere don't take coins or tokens anymore, but pay out with paper receipts. The noise of jackpot coins falling into metal bins is history, and I think that's a shame.
