Cash For Clunkers
Jul. 31st, 2009 04:27 pmGoing to help my GF trade in her high mileage SUV, and get a $4500 credit towards a cute new CUV. Her car now has 220,000+ miles and the entire smog system (catalytic converters and O2 sensors) is shot, making it impossible to sell. I like the Chevrolet Equinox, which gets better highway mileage that the hybrid CUV's, and maybe GM will give her 0% financing.

It looks like she's going to get a Toyota Rav4. They have a nice product that's in stock and they offer attractive financing. The Chevrolet dealer had nothing to sell, and I've heard news reports that the disarray and plant closings have crippled Chevrolet's ability to stock cars and take advantage of this recent buying frenzy. The Ford was gutless and Honda didn't offer any buying inventives.
