My mystery tree is surprising me. The developing fruit is in the center of the frame. Now it doesn't look like cherry to me. It's larger already, not in clusters, and green and fuzzy for now. Plum trees flower like cherry trees, don't they? I should bring a sample to someone more knowledgable for identification.

In this picture is also my nopales cactus, a brand new avocado tree, and the shed that needs a new roof.

Someone just told me that its an almond tree. "Almonds are commonly mistake for a variety of nut, but the almond is actually the seed of a fruit of an almond tree, which is part of the same family of the peach tree. The fruit of the almond even looks like a peach, which eventually splits and releases the seed, the almond. The nuts form fruits that look like flattened peaches or apricots. They stay green for quite a while before turning brown and starting to split. This is the time they are ready for harvesting. You will have to beat the local wildlife if you want to crop your nuts before they do. Netting trees will help protect from squirrels and birds.
