Rainy March Smart Dog
Mar. 18th, 2011 08:06 amOne bad thing about Halo is that he tears up the front lawn. He's learned that I don't like that, and most recently he rips up grass and digs to punish me when I ignore him. I'm not sure how to stop him, but yesterday, I patched the bad spots with grass seed. We are in the middle of a wet period, with storms forecast for the next seven days. Bad flooding has started up north, but I'm at the southern limit of most storm systems so it's light to moderate rain, and the little creek has not risen that much.
I have to dig some irrigation trenches soon, but I don't want to start and then stop halfway because of the rain. I want to finish and bury the pipes and not have a muddy mess out there. It might be best to watch for a long break in the weather.
Halo's learning lots of words, and he's really good at communication and understanding. He even gets it when I tell him I have to go pee. There's a famous Australian Shepherd that knows hundreds of words and has been studied by researchers,
