Aug. 18th, 2011 08:46 amI'm naming the new dog "Pogi" after my dog that died in 2008. It sounds distinctly different that "Halo", and the new dog has learned it, and responds to it already. The three of us go walking together, and, at times, I let him off leash. He minds well, and takes his cues on how to act from Halo.
I have to get some Frontline for Pogi, and give him a covert bath. I'm going to try and ride him in the truck, which seems to be new to him. He'll go in the truck bed, with Halo riding in the cab. I'm being careful not to spark jealously and aggression from Halo by being too friendly with Pogi. I'm giving that time, and letting Halo decide when Pogi can come in the house.
This morning, Halo was on my right side, getting his head scratched, and Pogi came up on my left. I was able to discreetly scratch Pogi with my left hand, while attending to Halo on my right.
They really like each other, right now they are laying together on the front porch.
