Farm Report For August 26
Aug. 26th, 2012 10:02 amThe largest butternut squash was not tied well enough and broke off the trellis. I'm trying now to encase them in plastic grocery bags tied to the trellis.
Something died in the garden, and smells bad. It may be a rat under the squash canopy, but I can't find it.
The watermelon plants are spreading and flowering, but not setting fruit. A real farmer would probably tear them out at this point in the season.
I should pull up the first row of beans and replant more beans. We'll see if I have time. The ceramics are keeping me uber busy.
