I started taking apart my laptop last night, and the service manual was accurate until I was trying to remove the system board. I've almost removed it, but the poor laptop is in a hundred pieces. I'll continue tonight. The DC power jack needs to be replaced, so once the board is out, the bad one will need to be desoldered and removed, and then the new one soldered in. It's still a pretty capable computer, so I hope I can keep it running for a few more years. If anyone out there is looking for a fast, new internet machine the Google Chromebooks start at $199.
