The homeless encampment is empty this morning, with every tent knocked down, and clothing and such scattered and strewn all over the ground.

In other news, it got much colder last night than forecast, and today I'll pick the last of the peppers and tomatoes.

The last, mostly green jalapeno peppers are drying, and I gleaned almost two gallons of brandywine tomatoes as I cleared the south bed. I hope the tomatoes will ripen indoors. Next year, I want to plant a hotter sort of pepper, and a high-yielding Roma style tomato. I need to prepare that bed for yellow onions, and that will involve roto-tilling in a large volume of compost, and then let it sit until February. I'll first plant the onions indoors, and then transplant them into the ground a few weeks before the last frost.
