Beware and begone all ye evil beasts!
Apr. 26th, 2013 10:59 amWe haven't run into that pack of dogs, but I notice that some of the neighborhood bad dogs are not around. The sheriff's department shot one, and claim that was the pack leader, and the rest will now disperse, but that might be wishful thinking.
In all honesty, you can't assume that these dogs would harm humans just because they like to kill goats. I'm still carrying a hand axe, just in case, because in a worse case scenario I would want it. The three of us walk twice a day right into the heart of darkness. I've got a little Viking blood in me, so beware all ye evil beasts lest I loose the hounds and draw my steel axe!
In happier news, I've harvested the main heads of the broccoli plants, and frozen some. The auxiliary heads will now develop and later I'll get another, smaller harvest.
I also cut and dried about half of my Greek oregano. It seems like a lot when you cut it, but when it's dry it's not so much. I've read you want to cut it before it flowers.
I'll transplant my first eight tomato plants into the garden as soon as tomorrow. The peppers and eggplant are doing well, but are not grown up enough yet.
