I transplanted seven japanese eggplant starters into the main garden bed. It's hot today, and they're loving that. Eggplant are tropical and extremely cold sensitive, and a magnet for bugs.
They're good, though, and a welcome change from green vegetables. Eggplant and avocados are my most challenging plants, because they're not completely suited to this climate.

The next garden job will be to harvest the green onion seed and then put up cages for the tomato plants to climb. Each row will have four cage posts, with 1/2" nylon banding in big hoops, every foot up the posts.
