George Zimmerman Trial
Jun. 27th, 2013 01:07 pmTrayvon Martin's girlfriend is on the witness stand and her latest version of the final phone conversation has changed a couple of times with the latest version, absolutely damning to Zimmerman. In two previous interviews, she said nothing about incredibly important elements of the conversation.
She claims now that one of the last things she heard was Zimmerman saying "What are you doing around here?" and then Martin screaming "Get Off, Get Off"
She has also lied in court proceedings about her age, about being in the hospital at the time of the funeral, and about writing a letter that was sent to Trayvon Martin's mother.

Ugh, Five Day Heat Wave
Jun. 27th, 2013 05:51 pmIt's forecast to be 108F tomorrow, followed by 3 days with highs of 104F, and then finishing off with a day of 106F.
I stopped drinking soda a few months ago, so I just drink lots of water and take showers to cool down. I don't go out in the afternoon, and walk the dogs around dusk.
I've also been losing weight, which helps in the heat. It's easy not to eat when it's so damn hot. I'm still about 10 pounds too heavy, but after this heat wave, I should be down some. With the trouble I'm having with my joints, especially my feet and ankles, I'm toying with the idea of losing a good deal of weight and dropping into the skinny range to see if I feel better.
Losing weight is also important because I don't wear shirts around the house if it's hot, and we all know that middle-aged men with fat bellies are the worst.
