A nice family came over and took the little puppy home. I'm glad it ended well, and I don't want the responsibility for any more stray dogs.

My two dogs watched the puppy leaving with her new family, and didn't really need to check the garage to understand that she's gone. Pogi is staying very close to me this afternoon, almost like he's reassured that he's my dog, and his place is safe.

Early tomorrow morning, I'm going to harvest beans and peas. I thought the peas were finished, but roots left in the main bed sprouted more vines and now peas.

I have a neighbor with quite a bit of land that wants to put in onions, and I've promised him both red and yellow seed. This is a guy after my own heart, living in what was a farmhouse. The barn is still there, but very rickety, and he's got an old Ford tractor that he uses mostly to clear weeds.

The red onion seed heads are mature now, and I'm picking them.

I'm going to harvest the yellow onions, as well. I can work in the cool of the morning. There will be some hard, heavy work later, clearing the weeds from that bed, moving in compost, and preparing the soil for squash. It all has to be done quickly, but I'll work in increments for the next few mornings. My goal is to plant the bed anew on Saturday.

I've got little green Serrano peppers forming, and huge, huge amounts of Roma tomatoes. I may get my goal of 48 quarts of canned tomatoes.
