Dirty Luck
Aug. 5th, 2013 06:26 pmToday my Ford truck battery died without warning, but I was finally able to get a jump start and get home. I had both dogs with me, which complicates things, but all's well that ends well.
For now, I'm going to take the battery from the Chevy truck (which I don't drive) and try to adapt it to fit the Ford.
I call it dirty luck, because true bad luck is much more terrible. We made it back, safe and sound, and I have a viable plan to fix things tomorrow.
In other news, the old man was bugging me to let him harvest more nopales paddles, so I just gave him some normal food. He'll be leaving soon, so I don't mind. It's just that I don't want him to expect me to feed him. He should buy more food and less alcohol. He never runs out of vodka.
Halo was barking at some external threat, and I went out and looked, even getting a flashlight to carefully check the hinterlands. My helping to guard made him happy. I know from experience that something was out there, even though I never saw it. Maybe going out with a light scared whatever away.
