Fruit Trees
Aug. 31st, 2013 09:47 pmMy last avocado tree is struggling for life. I didn't water it quite well enough, and most of the remaining leaves have withered. It's so fragile that any little mistake is devastating. My neighbor with the pomegranates tells me he's gone through about five avocado trees without any success.
The two Japanese plum trees that I planted this spring are doing well, as they are better suited to this climate. The Elephant Heart is in a hot and sunny spot and has some burn, but the Santa Rosa is in a more shady spot and looks great.
I have a good amount of lemons developing, but not a bumper crop, like last year, when the tree was so heavy with fruit that branches were breaking.
