Literary And Canine Update

I'm reading "All The Pretty Horses" by Cormac McCarthy. It's sort of a Western, set in 1949. It was hard getting through the first few chapters, as they were all style, with not much substance, but now I've found the flow of the story.

I haven't been able to give away the little chihuahua. She doesn't really fit into the rough-and-tumble world of my two sheepdogs, and they don't much like her. I see how well suited my two boys are for each other, when a third dog is present. I'm a little worried that one of them might hurt her.
