Eulogy For A Throw Away Dog
Jun. 4th, 2015 08:12 pmFor the past four mornings, a stray pit bull has been lurking in the boonies, eating garbage and waiting for an owner to return.
It made me nervous, as I would be walking my dogs, and pit bulls often attack us. This one never did, and yesterday I called animal control. They told me they don't catch dogs, but might try to trap it when one of their three traps became available.
This morning, we found it dead on the railroad tracks. It died quickly, and didn't suffer. Let's hope it had some nice moments in those last four days. No collar or tags, but what a powerful body! Fifty pounds of pure muscle.
