Two Mechanical Successes
Aug. 20th, 2015 12:57 pmI got the rat scooter started, and after 5 years, it still runs fine. I had to jump start it with the truck battery, and then prime the carburetor, and finally, once I put a gas cap on the tank, the fuel seemed to feed properly.
Then I wanted to get the throttle assembly apart, but the screw heads were horribly stripped. The all-wise internet helped me address the problem, and on the most hopeless screw, I cut an new slot with a rotary tool and backed it out.
It was nice to get all this done quickly, without running to the store and buying screw extractors.
Tomorrow, I'll fix the throttle and then I can ride my rat around the neighborhood.
The ultimate goal is to move everything over to a different frame, attach body panels, and have a real, legal street scooter.
