In my endless quest for self-sufficiency, I'm pickling and storing two quarts of green olives. Actually, the process is lacto-fermenting, which I find interesting. There's pressure and bubbling in the jars, and I'll change the brine in a week.

In the same survivalist vein, I tested my emergency radio. How many of you have food and emergency equipment put away? What would happen with you if the electric grid went down for a week?
