Mechanical Update Quickly Turning To Dogs

I installed a new mulching blade on the lawnmower. The new blade chops up the grass clippings and leaves much finer than the standard blade and shoots them out to fertilize the grass. A big improvement for a tiny cost. I also used my new torque wrench, as the bolt that holds the spinning blade has to be a precise degree of tightness. The required torque of 55 ft/lbs was much tighter than I would have otherwise guessed.

The dogs love the lawn, and love to have me go out and mow it. They will roll in the newly cut grass, driving the smell deep into their fur. Pogi has torn it up terribly, digging for gophers. I try to control the gophers and minimize his digging, but I wasn't very successful at that this season.

Pogi is compulsive and obsessive, and digging gophers is one of his things. The prey drive is very strong in some dogs, so my best bet is to just not have gophers under the ground.
