Dogs and Tomato Harvest
Oct. 9th, 2015 11:22 amWe encountered a local pit bull loose this morning, but it didn't attack. Halo was giving out happy signals, so the dog didn't get over aggressive. It didn't come too close, but followed us for a bit.
The pack of little wild dogs is down to only two. There was a big uproar the other night, and that may have been a big owl catching the third one.(All three are still here, and they came to the fence and politely visited my dogs, which is a curious development. Maybe they like that Pogi will jump the fence to chase away strange dogs. He's helping them maintain territory. The dog next door also will come into the yard when strange dogs are hassling her.)
I'm picking and canning lots of tomatoes right now. I sweep through the garden and pick 3 buckets at a time, which translates into 7 quarts of finished product. When I'm finally done in November, I should have a whole year's supply put up.
