I harvested Greek oregano this morning, right before it blossomed. I set it into drying trays in the garage, which is perfect for our low humidity summer. The oregano stems that remain after cutting may even produce a second crop.

I also picked some plums. The Santa Rosa tree is bearing heavily, and I've netted it to protect the fruit against jays. I even brought out my robot owl, which seems to be very . effective for deterring jays. I'm a little surprised, because the crows and magpies were not fooled by it.

When I finish picking these plums, I can move the nets to the Elephant Heart plum tree which won't ripen fruit until about August.
