There are lots of bunny rabbits coming to the edges of my property, hungry for the green grass. Halo sort of likes them, even though he barks. They are feral cottontail rabbits, as opposed to the jackrabbits (hares) that are native.

The cats are still coming for dinner at dusk. There might be new people(with pitbulls) at the house where their cat lady once lived. Now that I have two or three cats, all the gophers are gone.

Halo has adjusted to my being gone, but is very happy when I'm home. The front yard is pretty large with good views, so I think he's doing sentry duty with two neighboring big dogs. The dogs collectively bark as anomalous people happen by. A German Shepherd watches to the north, and a Rottweiler guards to the south.
