I started my kiln this afternoon, seemingly for the first time in years. I connected up to the gas line and lit one burner a number of times, because it would go out after 30 seconds or so. I used up all my matches in testing it and realize what I need is one of those long butane lighters. I was glad to be outside, because when it lit, it literally roared into life, with the flame blasting out like a blow torch.

There is one broken pilot burner and the goofy performance could mean a bad thermocouple or solenoid valve. I'm going to first run it some more, but my plan is to quickly bring it to a professional and get some help.
