Of Cabbages and Kings

robbyI planted the fourth half-row of bush beans, and now have used up the packet. The first lot I planted are still bearing heavily, and I'm not sure if I will plant any more this season. I picked my first two eggplant yesterday, so everything is bearing, except the squash, and that's about ready to break into blossom.
I noticed the dog was working on his burrow, so I got down and looked. It's a nice, comfortable dog-nest under a big bush in the coolest part of the yard. He doesn't really need it, because I let him inside when it's hot. He's stopped tearing up the lawn, so these hidden burrows that he builds are OK with me.
