Paris Hilton's grandpa pays for the local fireworks show. The dogs hate the sound of explosions and I'll have to watch them closely tonight. Halo gets frantic, and stays outside to guard against the approach of the invaders, and Pogi will sometimes come in and hide in the bathroom. I googled "dogs and fireworks", and one thread suggested putting your smelly t-shirt on the dog for security. It seems to work, and Halo seems to really like wearing my t-shirts.
