Chicken Herding

The flock of feral chickens is now over here often throughout the day, It would be simple to domesticate some. I could cut a hole in the fence, build a coop in a quiet part of the side yard where the dogs can't go. A bag of chicken feed, a safe place to roost, equals fresh eggs forever.

Kauai has tons of feral chickens and I asked a local if you could eat them, and he said no, you wouldn't want to eat them. Why, when they are living in rain forest and eating tropical bugs? I wonder if they wouldn't make good stewing chickens, the tougher a stewing chicken the better. Fresh eggs are delicious.

I remember those chickens on Kauai. You'd be amazed at how wild chickens can fly. I'm thinking out loud about taming chickens, because I have other important things to do, like building an online gallery for my ceramics. I wouldn't want to kill and eat these chickens, it's to messy and I'm a little soft-hearted about animals.
