That concrete table top is nice. Can you do different colors/finishes in concrete? IIRC you were thinking about redoing your kitchen countertops in concrete which could look pretty sweet.

Yes, you can add colorant while mixing the concrete, but some people like the industrial grey look. This was a simple cast-in place, but the most sophisticated are cast off site and the bottom of the molded slab is flipped over to become the top of the counter. The advantage to this off site casting is that you add rocks or even glass which are embedded in the finished top. You then grind and polish and the final effect is like stone.

I have counters made of ugly white tile, which are hard to keep clean, so the right concrete counters could make a huge improvement. The total costs including a good grinder would be about $400, but at this moment I don't have the time to take on a big project.
