Halo knows what's up, and told me this morning that somebody's sleeping under the railroad bridge. He wanted to go in and investigate, but stayed with me when I asked him to, and later went wading instead in the canal.

I tilled a garden section, this morning, and planted three long rows of bush beans. Even though it was early, I was working in full sun, and rivers of sweat were rolling off me. My body is adjusting to the heat, and really turns on the tap to keep me cool.

It was 106F on Monday. I would die running in that heat.

It has been too hot to run here this week. 110s. It's pre-monsoon. I've been stuck in air-conditioned gym.

I'll see Mexican monsoons on the weather maps, but they rarely make it this far. What we hope for is the delta breeze. When it blows through Vacaville, we have a natural air conditioner.

I didn't realize you are up by Vacaville! I know the area well. It gets very hot. I spent summers at Lake Berryessa where the street tar melted and stuck to our feet.

But yes, we do get the Mexican monsoons here. They are building. Should arrive in a couple of weeks.

No I'm east and south, in the northern San Joaquin Valley, but the winds will rip through Vacaville and cool down a big area to the east.
