The Liberian man in Dallas who was recently confirmed as having Ebola, spent many days in public while infected. He was sick for some time, and when he finally went to the hospital, he was given antibiotics and sent home, and then, two days later, re-admitted.

Many scary potential scenarios here. My own thought is that if ebola ever reaches epidemic levels in the U.S., rich people will survive it -- they'll be able to pay for the necessary support measures -- and poor people won't.

Certainly the importance of this story has been massively underplayed in my book. It's much, much bigger than ISIS or the George Clooney nuptials.

The CDC is doing outreach to the Liberian community in Dallas; asking them not to meet in large groups, and such. The guy was wandering free and infectious for quite some time.
