One Stray Adopted
Oct. 15th, 2014 12:55 pmThe kids next door took in a little terrier that had been hanging around. It looks like a wire terrier mix. No collar or tags. He's young and very sweet, and glommed onto the kids after wandering around for a while. They just had a dog killed in the street, so I guess their parents were ok with a replacement.
This is the best hope for the strays, because animal control is just a death factory. They were recently caught killing dogs even before the 72-hour waiting period was over.
When I see strays, there is always hope they will find local homes, and perhaps wandering around a few months is better than a quick and certain death at the pound.

Date: 2014-10-15 09:39 pm (UTC)That's how I got my Rutger, you know. Rutger's owner got very sick and poor Rutger was gonna have to go to the shelter and I just couldn't bear the thought. I didn't want a second cat.
I've been the lucky one in that transaction since Rutger has the nicest personality in the world. :-)
