Gopher Trouble

robbyPogi has been tearing up the lawn big-time, digging for gophers. He knows that I don't like that, but from what I've read, stopping a dog's prey drive is almost impossible.
I bait and cover the holes when he starts, but there still are multiple gophers in the lawn. I wonder if this gopher bait is not effective.
Halo is not crazy about hunting, and never digs up the lawn, and I appreciate that.
If I gave up, the lawn would look like the surface of the moon, impossible to mow, with three-foot deep craters throughout.
