Noisy Dogs

robbyMy two boys rousted some ne'er do wells, who were scuffling around at dawn, probably looking for some things to steal. My dogs were ably assisted by a third dog, a Great Pyrenees, that is like my Halo, but much bigger.
The crooks hate it when three dogs start such an unrelenting chorus that people come out of the houses and look.
The night before they were howling together, which is quite awesome to hear. A train whistle or siren starts Halo off, and Pogi is drawn to it and adds little counterpoint yip-yip-yips.
I think howling has evolved as a canine form of long distance communication, but only certain dogs seem to do it.
