The ugly truth is that a significant percentage of Muslims support ISIS and violent jihad. Al Jazeera took an Arabic poll here in the US a few years ago that confirms this.

You can google the poll, and the football video is on YouTube. The Greek Prime Minister was at the game, and the message from the spectators is very clear. I have read that only 30 identifiable Muslims (from Bangladesh) joined the Parisian protest of these recent killings.

The percentage of Muslims that support ISIS is going to vary greatly by location. It may be that in the US there is a greater percentage of extremist Muslims, but the culture there is very friendly to extremists. The 'freedom of speech' is terribly problematic, it has made the US a haven for all kinds of nut jobs. In Canada, we have laws against hate speech so we don't have nearly as many extremists. People like the Westboro Baptists are turned away at our borders.

Many parts of the world right now are so Islamophobic, that if I were Muslim and living there, I would keep my religion a secret. I wouldn't want my children to be in danger for my beliefs. Muslims with more moderate beliefs aren't often seen in the press, there's an invisible majority that is far more repesentative of the faith than ISIS.
