Garden Update

This fall has been cooler than normal, and I think my tomato harvest is over. The plants look OK, but the morning lows are in the lower 50's so the blossoms fall off. The squash is doing really well.

Halo is still feeling good, eating well and walking a mile per day. I have to build a ramp to get him in the car. I have also ordered a harness that will let me lift him if he needs the help.

The rains will start in about a week, and this could be a wet winter.

The cyclical weather has, actually, cycled and we are back to wet and cool for the next few years, I'd wager. It's definitely autumn up here, but still hot down in the valley by the afternoons. I'm looking forward to feeling less afraid about wildfire for a while.

We had to use a sling on our long-legged Weimaraner as he grew old and it worked very well. Halo is lucky to have you.

I try to follow the long-term forecast, and El Niño conditions are forming, but whether that means a rainy winter, is still anyone's guess. I got a report from my smart thermostat, and September 2023 was significantly cooler than September 2022.
