My Secret World of Accounting
Apr. 16th, 2003 05:40 amI've been quietly and deliberately working on taxes for the last few weeks. I finished last night and took them to the post office about 7:30 PM. I was so exhausted by all this tax accounting that I fell asleep at 10 PM last night, and woke up at 4:30 AM. I filed extensions for my personal taxes, but had to estimate my tax liability and write two big checks. The last few days have been extra stressful because a number of people have asked me to help with their taxes. This morning, I have to make bank deposits to cover the checks. And also pay some bills. I was thinking about listing the crapulous forms and schedules I had to complete, but I don't even want to look at taxes anymore. But I did finish in time, and feel a sense of relief.
I tried to a use Turbo Tax program to estimate my personal Federal taxes, but it was wrong! I know enough about taxes to catch their errors, and I essentially had to re-do it the old way. I have been putting off doing other important things for the last few weeks, and now I can start attacking that list
I'm going to San Diego for Easter.
