I've been summoned for jury duty on May 4, at the County Courthouse in Redwood City. That's where the Laci Peterson murder trial is being held. I think they have finished selecting the jury for that trial, and will soon begin opening arguments.

I was a juror about ten years ago, for a two week long embezzlement trial. I 'll never forget that look on the defendant's face when we found him quilty of multiple felonies.

Some juries listen to boring civil suits between corporations, but my one experience, hearing an embezzlement case was interesting. When it was time to reach a verdict, we had to have the court reporter come in and read the transcript because a number of jurors hadn't heard some important details of the testimony. I'm sure I'll see the press around the courthouse, as this is where the Laci Peterson murder trial is being held.
