Jun. 23rd, 2002 11:05 pmI started a five gallon batch of black rasberry merlot today. It should be ready to siphon into secondary fermentor about Friday. With luck, I should have 25 bottles in about 3 weeks. The brewing supply shop opened at noon, and the guys who run it were half buzzed already. They were making wines with a little extra "punch", and they had me taste their latest creations. The two wines I tasted reminded me of cheap muscatel, and were about 20% alcohol. One of the two lived on a boat in the San Leandro marina, and had to make his wine in the shop because his boat rolled too much in the water. They were both happy guys. I would guess they drink a lot of wine.
